Hello! This week we will continue to learn about apples! We will be practicing labeling the parts of an apple, dissecting an apple and counting the pips as well as following a recipe and making apple sauce. We will be reading 10 Apples on Top by Dr Seuss, Big Red Apple by Tony Johnson as well as re-reading some of our favorite apple books from last week. A BIG thanks for all of you who sent in apples and gourds last week! I REALLY appreciate it! Our color of the week is purple. Please send in your purple picture no later than Thursday. This is the homework for the week so please be sure to look for something purple with your child! Do not forget to turn in your field trip form and money. Cash only please, the office no longer takes checks! We would love parent volunteers, so please come if you are able! As cooler weather begins, we are trying to ensure that students can dress themselves independently. If we had to physically dress every student we may never make it outside! We need your help to practice this skill at home! Here is an article on how we teach students to put on their own coats. We call it the “Pre-school Flip”. http://www.teachpreschool.org/2013/02/how-to-put-on-a-coat/

When is the field trip and how much is the fee? I will make sure our daughter is covered. Most likely her grandmother will be attending as well. We will make sure the volunteer packet is complete.
