Hello! The students are very excited about our field trip on Thursday! Please be sure to be here by 9am! Please feed your child a good breakfast because we will not be eating on the trip. We will depart the museum at 11:15am, which means we should be back at Ray by 11:30-11:45. Please be sure to let us know if your child gets car sick. Parent volunteers, we will be making a special effort to look at the sea turtles, tortoises and freshwater turtles because it relates to our turtle project. I will provide clipboard for students to make observational drawings on. Next week we will be taking a virtual field trip to the Loggerhead Rescue in FL, http://www.marinelife.org/. Our culminating activity will be when the students present the knowledge they have gained to the other pre-k classrooms and then to our 8th grade buddies. The children have become the experts and outputting (sharing the information out with others) that knowledge demonstrates the highest level of understanding. If you have not heard, we are very sad to announce Ms. Green (the assistant from room 413) passed away on Friday. Notes were sent home to all pre-k families and the pre-k students in 413 discussed the situation with a grief councilor. We will not being discussing it in our class unless another student brings it up. We will not be doing a new letter this week due to the shortened week. Please start saving containers for us to plant seeds in. We will need clean milk cartons/jugs, clean yogurt containers or any small container that can hold a plant. Remember: No school on Friday (April 25) due to the furlough day. Mandi Heiser [email protected]
