Hello!
Sorry for the late post-I was out yesterday due to illness. No color or letter of the week this week due to the short week! Next week we will be learning about the letter L and the color pink. The letter L is the first letter introduced in the Hand Writing without Tears curriculum which introduces letters by their appropriateness for fine motor skills. Students will be practicing writing the letter L as well developing phonemic awareness using the letter L. Be sure to send in a small pink picture for our classroom book as well as a picture of something that starts with the letter L. This week we are still reading our pumpkin books including Big Pumpkin, It’s Pumpkin Time by Zoe Hall. We dissected our pumpkin and voted on what shapes to make the pumpkin’s features. We will also be making an anchor chart where we will write about the characteristics of the inside and outside of our pumpkin. We will be tasting apple cider next Monday with our 8th grade buddies! If you are willing to donate these supplies we would greatly appreciate it: Shaving cream Feathers for art projects Pom poms Don’t forget! Thursday –Parent/Child Activity 9:30-10:30 in the lunchroom (Please join us in playing the academic games that are used in the classroom) Friday-Class Field Trip to Eden’s place-9:00-11:30 (Be sure to feed your child a big breakfast because there will be no snacks on this trip)
